WIN-TV News reminds viewers new rink includes dedicated curling ice

Tonight's WIN-TV News report by Caitlyn Chalmers was a good opportunity to remind viewers of the undertaking by Cruachan Investments/Pelligra Group to include dedicated ice for curling at the new twin-sheet ice sports facility in Tuggeranong. It is important to remind the community that the need for a new facility is not only to succeed the ageing Phillip Ice Skating Centre -- which has performed admirably for more than 45 years -- and is fast approaching its use-by date, but is to accommodate a growth in existing as well as new ice sports such as curling, speed skating/ice racing, and inclusive forms of ice hockey (para or sled hockey), figure skating and curling.
